  • This light is still not working and this stretch of lane has been in darkness all winter. If you are walking in the dark its extremely dangerous. This was reported 5 months ago and also directly to a highways employee when he was in the area.

  • Customer email- forwarded to Streetlight team as no updates provided since reported

    Good afternoon.
I have had an acknowledgement of my email below of 13th March but sadly no proper reply.
We are now on British summertime.......
A whole winter has passed with no street lighting.
Perhaps a discount in my council tax would be appropriate!

Is there any chance of a response to this matter?

  • This light is still not working. Lane has been in pitch darkness for nearly a year. I've emailed CBC who said it would be passed on. That was 2 months ago.

It's extremely dangerous walking in pitch darkness an accident waiting to happen here. Next month clocks go back .

  • Ref my email of 12th September. It's was 5 months ago that CBC advised this would be looked at urgently by the team. Now exactly 11 months since this was first reported.

  • Thank you for your Highways report.
An order has now been raised to rectify the identified issue and this will now be added to our programme of works. We are, unfortunately, unable to provide you with a timescale for this work to be completed, however, all repairs are prioritised using an assessment matrix in line with our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP)

We will continue to monitor all defects to ensure the safety of our residents as part of the NMMP which can be found online - http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx

    Many thanks,
    Central Bedfordshire Council Highways
