Bus stop on East side of Southcourt Road close to junction leading to train station and adjacent side of the roadand adjacent

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 401737.
Additional parking restrictions need to be considered by the Highways team in this area as cars are parking on both sides of Southcourt Road near the bend and by the bus stop. This is dangerous and particularly dreadful on Saturdays. To clarify, this fairly new bus stop frequently has cars parked in the road and partially on the pavement making it impossible for the bus to pull in by the bus stop to pick up passengers. This is particularly dangerous as the road has regular traffic coming in both directions and is close to a bend on the other side of the road. Cars often park on and around the bend (see photo) which makes it dangerous to get out of the driveways safely as vision is greatly reduced. Could Highways please investigate upgrading the single yellow line to a double yellow line, thereby prohibiting waiting 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, or installing a ‘no stopping except buses’ restriction. Thank you

Saturday 6th April - the trains weren't stopping at Leighton Buzzard train station and only a couple of cars were parked near the bus stop. It seems therefore likely, that the main issue with cars parking in the road is that drivers prefer to park free instead of using the ample car parking at the train station, even though it makes the road hazardous at the weekends for pedestrians, cars and buses.
