Pavement drains on the Ampthill Road, between the Priory Gate entrance by the roundabout and Penfold Close.

Reported via desktop in the Drains/Ditches Blocked category anonymously at 12:31, Tuesday 28 May 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 407348.

Several of the pavement drains are completely blocked with soil/weeds and rubbish. They have been blocked for a few years now as I have made several requests to have them cleaned and nothing has been done. The blockage of these drains prevents surface water running into the main road drainage system. This water then runs down the Ampthill Road to its first lowest point which is Penfold Close. This results in flooding of the close and in some cases flooding of residents drives and garage. Cleaning of these drains was promised with the last set of road works in this area in 2023. The cleaning was not done. Please notify us as soon as possible, when these drains will be cleaned out.
