Trees on the southern side of Ampthill Road....opposite 44-50.

Reported via desktop in the Trees category anonymously at 08:34, Mon 1 July 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 408671.

Several of these trees are overhanging the main carriageway right across to the other side. In recent weeks several branches have been broken off by larger vehicles including school buses and on one occasion some material was knocked off the top of a skip lorry. The passage of two way traffic is occasionally halted because vehicles cannot get through. This is dangerous and the trees need cutting back.

  • Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
We already have maintenance work planned in for this area and the issue will be resolved as part of this work. We are, unfortunately, unable to provide you with a timescale for this to be completed, however, all repairs are prioritised using an assessment matrix in line with our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP).

We will continue to monitor all defects to ensure the safety of our residents as part of the NMMP which can be found online - http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx

    Many thanks,
    Central Bedfordshire Council Highways
