Main crossroads west/church street and high street

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 409816.

The traffic lights are not phasing properly at this Junction traffic north and south is sometimes only getting five or six seconds to move and it's not enough time to clear the traffic and is causing a backlog up the High Street in both directions. these traffic lights need to be correctly phased and allow longer changes for traffic to clear in all directions. In my opinion north and south and traffic should be phased separately to allow traffic turning right in either direction to clear without obstructions this would allow for much smoother flow of traffic across the junction.
