Reported via iOS in the Trees category anonymously at 10:55, Sunday 4 August 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 409975.

I am writing to request remedial work on a large ash tree close to the boundary of my property in Langford. The tree’s location is ///relatives.rebounder.shippers It is on the verge on the corner of Station Road and Windsor Way SG18 9PF

The tree has grown a lot in recent years and I am concerned that it is very close to surrounding houses. As it is a strong, healthy native tree I definitely do not wish it to be removed but it does need the crown reducing and to be checked for dead branches to avoid accident or injury to pedestrians.

  • Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
Due to current budget constraints, we are having to prioritise repairs for defects that pose higher risks in accordance with our Network Management Maintenance Plan assessment criteria, the details of which can be found online http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx

After inspecting the reported issue, our engineers have determined that this doesn't currently feature as a priority for repair. Rest assured, we'll continue to monitor the tree during future inspections. We appreciate your understanding and thank you for your report.

    Many thanks,
