Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 410277.
I am writing to bring to your immediate attention an issue concerning the overgrown trees on Western Way. The trees have grown significantly and are now obstructing the street lamps, resulting in a lack of proper lighting during the night.
This situation has raised several safety concerns for the residents of Western Way, including:
Increased Risk of Accidents: The poor visibility at night makes it difficult for both pedestrians and drivers to navigate the road safely. Security Concerns: The darkness provides cover for potential criminal activities, making residents feel unsafe in their own neighborhood. Unfortunately, there has already been a car robbery from a driveway on our street in the last few months. General Safety: The lack of lighting also poses a risk for anyone walking or cycling in the area, increasing the likelihood of trips, falls, and other accidents. Fire Hazard: The overgrown trees are in close contact with the street lamps. This proximity poses a potential fire hazard, especially during warmer months when the foliage can dry out. I kindly request that the council takes prompt action to trim the trees and restore adequate lighting to our street. Ensuring the safety and security of residents should be a top priority, and I believe addressing this issue will greatly contribute to that goal.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your swift response and resolution.
