A4146
Reported via desktop in the Crash barriers category anonymously at 11:56, Thursday 5 September 2024
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 411026.
Resident requesting crash barriers along a section of the A4146 leading up to a roundabout.
What's happening is this.
As you come along the A4146 and go pass the Macdonald's. ( Post code LU7 9HH ) . So heading west along the A4146 .
You will then arrive at the next roundabout which you can use to come off the A4146 into the A4012 and into the retail shops like Browns and KFC , etc.
At this roundabout to come off the A4146 into the A4012 . Drivers are pretending to turn right or go back around the roundabout , but at the last moment go straight across , continuing along the A4146.
This has led to many near collisions when you have 2 cars trying to squeeze into the one lane.
As well as near head on collisions with cars coming from the opposite direction along the A4146
Tends to happen a lot in the morning rush hour and the late afternoon / early evening.
Resident solution is for barriers to be placed leading up to both sides of the roundabout along the A4146 to stop drivers attempting to do this .
Says we need to come out see what is happening .
