Biggleswade Common

Reported via desktop in the Public Rights of way category by Cllr Paul How at 20:11, Monday 16 September 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6478957.

There is a footbridge on Biggleswade common adjacent to the River Ivel that allows access across a ditch that fills up with water when there is heavy rain. As can been from the pictures it is deteriorating with gaps now appearing. The trip hazards are a gap at one end and a rotten slat Please repair

Updates

  • The deck boards are non-standard and we are in the process of ordering some. In the meantime a closure notice has been put on the bridge. It appears that vandals have now removed two whole deck boards from the bridge and the closure notice has been remove. A new notice will be erected, but I don't know how long it will stay in place.
