Pavement outside 30 Rothschild Road
Reported via mobile in the Flooded Property category anonymously at 17:46, Saturday 21 September 2024
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 411670.
Every time there is a heavy downpour of rain the water pours off the road onto the pavement and then down our path and laps on the front door. We have to put makeshift sandbags or blocks across our entrance when it’s particularly bad to prevent it entering the house. This wasn’t an issue until a year or two ago when council contractors laid slurry seal on top of the pavement in a bid to repair the damaged pavement. Unfortunately the pavement is now slightly higher than our entrance way resulting in rainwater spilling over and cascading down into our property.

Due to current budget constraints, we are having to prioritise repairs for defects that pose higher risks in accordance with our Network Management Maintenance Plan assessment criteria, the details of which can be found online http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspxAfter inspecting the reported issue, our engineers have determined that this doesn't currently feature as a priority for repair. Rest assured, we'll continue to monitor the defect during future inspections. We appreciate your understanding and thank you for your report.
