Lyall Close Flitwick outside nos 30 and 28

Reported via mobile in the Surface water on Highway category anonymously at 07:01, Sun 22 September 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 411677.

The road is flooding badly this morning, yet again. It seems to be running into no 28 and the flood water on the roadway is very deep and over the kerb. This keeps happening and has been reported over and over again to you. When the last person came out he told a neighbour that the road needed more drainage so when is this going to happen please?

Updates

  • State changed to: Investigating

Updated by Central Bedfordshire Council at 07:01, Sun 22 September 2024

  • Thank you for contacting us with information relating to a Highways issue. We plan to inspect the site during the next instance of significant rainfall (that takes place during working hours) and decide on the best course of action.

    State changed to: In progress

Posted by Central Bedfordshire Council at 09:01, Wed 25 September 2024

  • This week’s flooding and overflowing gullies are largely the result of extreme weather and the drainage systems all exceeding capacity, rather the drains themselves being blocked. If your road is flooded, please call the emergency hotline number.
We will continue to monitor the area in a more moderate amount of rainfall and assess at that stage if drains are blocked and if remedial works are required.
