1st bend on Holland Road

Reported via mobile in the Drains/Ditches Blocked category anonymously at 18:19, Mon 23 September 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 411962.

Drain fill extremely fast this has happened about 6 times this year hiwever last night water reached propert front doors and entered garages. Water was knee deep at point. Water will get waywhen the levels drop to almost grill level. The drains discharge into a pipe that passes under number 7 and into an inspection chamber in garden of number 9 holland road. It seems many drains discharge intk this that then go through to the culvert which discharges into the underground culvert than continues down to under dunstable road. The bottleneck of pipes cause the water to not get away. This could be due to a build up of silt in the discharge pipes or in the drains to the culvert. This results in no water escaping and pooling to a huge extent in the road.

Updated by Central Bedfordshire Council at 18:19, Mon 23 September 2024

  • This weekend’s flooding and overflowing gullies are largely the result of extreme weather. We will continue to monitor the area in a more moderate amount of rainfall and assess at that stage if remedial works are required.

State changed to: No further action
