Outside no36 and no34 Shortmead street

Reported via mobile in the Drains/Ditches Blocked category anonymously at 22:48, Monday 23 September 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 411982.

Previously reported issue: 408597 (ticket closed but still not resolved).

There are two drains on the road outside no36 and no34 Shortmead Street, both of which are not draining properly during rainy seasons which has been happening for approximately 5 months. Given the recent heavy rainfall the drain is completely full and not draining. The drain outside no34 also has foliage growing in it well which is likely exacerbating the poor drainage problem. Our house, at no36, has previously flooded due to these drains overflowing and therefore it needs to be addressed please. We are at a very, very high risk of being flooded due to no action being taken by CBC to maintain these drains. I am aware of the widespread flooding issue currently but this was reported months ago and I can see from the CBC Gully Programme 2024 that not one drain on Shortmead Street has been cleaned or maintained so far this year.
