23 Western Way

Reported via desktop in the Trees category anonymously at 11:56, Thursday 26 September 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 412177.

I am writing to follow up on the unresolved issue of the overgrown hedge outside my house on Western Way. Despite being informed that the tree had been trimmed, I can confirm that this is not the case. Additionally, someone from the council visited and confirmed to both myself and my neighbor that this is not a tree but a hedge, and that it will be fully removed. However, no further action has been taken.

My neighbor was also told by council representatives that the hedge would be cut, but there has been no clear communication regarding when this will happen. Given the ongoing safety concerns and the inconvenience this hedge is causing, I need a clear timeline for when the removal will take place.

The delay in addressing this issue, despite multiple confirmations and assurances, is unacceptable. I expect prompt action and a specific date for the full removal of the hedge.

Please respond with a clear timeline for when this will be resolved.

  • Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
We will not be removing the tree, the operatives you spoke to do not decide its management, they should not have made any promises.
We are happy with the work conducted. The carriageway and footway are sufficiently clear.

    Many thanks,
    Central Bedfordshire Council Highways
