Recently had a traffic monitor placed to count traffic that used foresters close ie school times
Reported via mobile in the Road Surface category anonymously at 09:00, Mon 30 September 2024
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council 1 minute later. Council ref: 412402.
Residents noticed that instead of blocking the road by double parking, parents dropping off children, actually turned around in the middle of the road before they got to the monitor… so not to go over it! Everyone was mentioning the strange phenomenon, however now today no monitor and parents are being their usual selfs double parking etc. thought you should be aware because obviously the numbers counted will not be a true reflection of how busy it is on a small road.

Thank you for contacting us with information relating to a Highways issue. Requests for speed limit changes/traffic calming will be reviewed and prioritised accordingly against all other requests across the county. We do not alter speed limits based on the perception of an issue. Requests will be reviewed based on a number of factors including collision history and independent traffic volume and speed counts over a 7 day, 24 hour period, along with meeting suitability with DfT guidance and prioritised accordingly. Should the request meet all the criteria it may be added to the Capital Works Programme for future years.
