A507 j/w Shefford Rd, Beadlow https://w3w.co/coupler.refrained.longingly

Reported via mobile in the Signs category anonymously at 10:45, Wednesday 2 October 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 412603.

The What3Words location for this is https://w3w.co/ coupler.refrained.longingly

I have just had to (9am) remove a large metal road sign left in the road at this location. It was either a red ROAD CLOSED or FLOOD sign and it was face down IN the carriageway IN the filter lane to turn right off the A507 onto Shefford Road. It was not on the hashed markings at the end of the filter lane. As it was face down, none of the red or reflective wording on the front of the sign was visible. This made it largely invisible, in the carriageway, and extremely dangerous. As it was a hazard, I moved it to the side of the road next to the westbound carriageway. The A507 near Cainhoe Castle is no longer flooded - please remove signage as soon as possible to prevent this happening again.
