Lime Trees outside 2 and 4 Groveside, Henlow

Reported via desktop in the Trees category anonymously at 11:58, Wednesday 2 October 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 412607.

The Lime trees outside No 2 and No 4 Groveside are badly overgrown for their location and full of dead branches (photo 2) that pose a risk to the public. Dead branches are constantly falling on the pathway and surrounding properties in the current weather. Some of these are of significant size as shown by photo 1 - taken 02/10/24.

The pathway along Church Road under these trees is the main route for children attending Henlow Academy and both No 2 and No 4 Groveside are occupied by vulnerable residents.

These trees need urgent management and size reduction. This is a long standing issue and has been reported to the Council previously.. .

  • Hello - the tree directly outside No.2 is owned by Grand Union Housing, they will need to be contacted directly regarding this one. The other, closer to the road/footpath near to No.4 is a CBC tree. We will inspect this tree and plan in any works that we deem necessary.

    State changed to: In progress
