Highways signage damaged

Reported via desktop in the Signs category anonymously at 15:49, Wed 2 October 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 412626.

Gate ahead and 40mph limit signage has been crashed into and ripped out of the ground. The signs are still on the bend pole and are still vertical, but are held up by the bush. Left side of the road, just before the house. Please note, this is not building control responsibility for certain. It's 100% highways official signage.

  • Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
Due to current budget constraints, we are having to prioritise repairs for defects that pose higher risks in accordance with our Network Management Maintenance Plan assessment criteria, the details of which can be found online http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx

After inspecting the reported issue, our engineers have determined that this doesn't currently feature as a priority for repair. Rest assured, we'll continue to monitor the defect during future inspections. We appreciate your understanding and thank you for your report.

    Many thanks,
