Wilshere road and beech avenue junction

Reported via mobile in the Pavement and Cycle path category anonymously at 11:04, Fri 25 October 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 413696.

This has been reported several times and the new growth on the conifers have only been cut and as you can see by the photos it is impossible to see if any traffic is coming from the right when you get to the junction unless you pull out into the road. Twice this week I have had to brake sharply when exiting the junction as there were cars coming and it is making it a blind spot and before long there will be an accident. The conifers also take up about 60% of the path and also completely block the street lighting

Updates

  • State changed to: Investigating

Updated by Central Bedfordshire Council at 11:04, Fri 25 October 2024

  • Customer added to report.

Customer called to raise this with highways.
Customer explained that this has been ongoing for months and the trees are covering the pathway making is difficult for pedestrians and blocking drivers view of road. Streetlight 3 is also covered so lighting is not lighting up the street.

    Email sent to tree officers.

  • Highways will get back in touch with the residents to request that this is cut back further as it is still restricting visibility and encroaching too far into the footpath.

    State changed to: In progress
