Pavement on bend between St Mary's Way and Bull Rush Green, Linslade

Reported via desktop in the Pavement and Cycle path category by Cllr David Bligh at 09:34, Wed 30 October 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 413870.

Part of the pavement has collapsed into a deep hole creating a trip and injury risk. This is exacerbated by several cars and vans half parking on the pavement on the bend, thus narrowing it and making it difficult to navigate with a pushchair or wheel chair. It's dangerous to go round the vehicles on the road and one of my neighbours, who is visually impaired, has fallen down the hole.

  • Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
Due to current budget constraints, we are having to prioritise repairs for defects that pose higher risks in accordance with our Network Management Maintenance Plan assessment criteria, the details of which can be found online http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx

After inspecting the reported issue, our engineers have determined that this doesn't currently feature as a priority for repair. Rest assured, we'll continue to monitor the defect during future inspections. We appreciate your understanding and thank you for your report.

    Many thanks,
