On the pavement opposite no10 Greenway

Reported via desktop in the Pavement Potholes category by Linda Bryant at 11:33, Sun 17 November 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 414551.

There has been a couple of potholes here for at least a year! Pushing my mother in her wheelchair is a huge problem in Campton as the pavements are nearly all problematic.. Yesterday she was nearly tipped out of her wheelchair when it went down into one of these potholes and the front wheels hit the leading edge. She is 93, disabled and can’t walk much, deaf and has dementia - surely thats enough problems without adding the indignity of tipping out of the wheelchair and maybe injuring herself?

  • Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
Due to current budget constraints, we are having to prioritise repairs for defects that pose higher risks in accordance with our Network Management Maintenance Plan assessment criteria, the details of which can be found online http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx

After inspecting the reported issue, our engineers have determined that this doesn't currently feature as a priority for repair. Rest assured, we'll continue to monitor the defect during future inspections, and have this in mind to be assessed again in the new financial year. We appreciate your understanding and thank you for your report.

    Many thanks,
    Central Bedfordshire Council Highways
