At the bottom end of Bedford Road, opposite the Southill Turn and close to the Post box.

Reported via mobile in the Signs category anonymously at 10:46, Saturday 1 February 2025

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council 2 minutes later. Council ref: 418062.

The sign indicating Bedford Road is becoming overgrown with brambles.

More importantly, the remains of the old sign are still there and comprise much twisted and sharp.metal. This is unsightly and could be a killer if a pedestrian or cyclist fell onto it. The previous sign was demolished during hedge cutting by the Parish Council.

  • Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
We already have maintenance work planned in for this area and the issue will be resolved as part of this work. We are, unfortunately, unable to provide you with a timescale for this to be completed, however, all repairs are prioritised using an assessment matrix in line with our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP).

We will continue to monitor all defects to ensure the safety of our residents as part of the NMMP which can be found online - http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx

    Many thanks,
    Central Bedfordshire Council Highways
