Ireland to Stanford /Southill junction

Reported via iOS in the Road Potholes category anonymously at 13:44, Sunday 2 February 2025

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 418126.

Road needs an urgent review. Multiple potholes causing dangerous conditions and erosion of edges by large vehicles all the way along this stretch are about to create a dozen more. Cars are swerving to avoid into oncoming traffic. This road has degenerated significantly since the road closure through Southill high street was put in place.

  • Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
We already have maintenance work planned in for this area and the issue will be resolved as part of this work. We are, unfortunately, unable to provide you with a timescale for this to be completed, however, all repairs are prioritised using an assessment matrix in line with our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP).

We will continue to monitor all defects to ensure the safety of our residents as part of the NMMP which can be found online - http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx

    Many thanks,
    Central Bedfordshire Council Highways
